1. Rosalia
Rosalia Vila Tobella is a young Spanish singer who is making a name for herself!
The 26-year-old Spanish phenom was already a nominee for a Video Music Award in 2019, but many in the industry believe the best is yet to come for this budding star.
She burst onto the scene in 2017 with her debut album Los Angeles and followed that record with another, El mal querer, a year later.
Rosalia is best known for her twist on traditional Flamenco music!
2. C. Tangana
C. Tangana has had a few names over the years, but one thing about him hasn’t changed: his talent level as a Spanish singer.
Born Anton Alvarez Alfaro, he went on to earn a Philosophy degree before becoming a representative working at a Vodafone call center. While working at the call center, C. Tangana (who was then known as ‘Cream’) began to develop as a singer.
He decided that he needed to be true to himself and dropped the name Cream to become C. Tangana before releasing records. Today, his music is softer pop, and figures to be a mainstay on Spanish radio stations for years to come!
3. Chanel
Chanel is living proof that trap rap is not going anywhere in the music scene of today and tomorrow.
Known as the “Trap Queen”, Chanel is one of the standout female musicians in Spanish rap and hip-hop. Chanel was born in Jerez and moved to the Balearic Islands as a child where she was raised.
While growing up in the Balearic Islands, she met Dos Anjos, the Spanish rap legend who helped Chanel develop her unique sound!
4. Los Zafiros
Los Zafiros is composed of a Spanish duo of talented rappers who also seem to stay busy on the streets, too.
The group is composed of Big Jay (aka, “Papi Trujillo”) and Vicious (aka “Cuban Link”) – two young rappers with egos as large as their talent.
In a recent music video, Big Jay is seen carrying a pistol, which helps continue the talk amongst fans surrounding his life away from the studio.
Los Zafiros’s style infuses Latin vibes with Spanish rap, making them a unique group in today’s music scene.
5. Khaled
Khaled is a talented rapper who hails from Grenada, Spain and is a rising star in Spanish music.
He is a member of PXXR GVNG, a Spanish rap group that was established in Barcelona in 2013 but is still making hits as a group and individually.
Khaled strikes a note with his listeners because he raps about growing up a poor child in Southern part of Spain.
One of his best-known lyrics, “The poor only drink Jagermeister” holds true for Khaled. Jager with tonic water is his drink of choice.
